Did you consider that the fiction could confuse viewers from the original? There is very little known about Ertugrul, therefore the show was made for commercial reasons, not educational.

A documentary could have been made for educational intention.

The show promotes some impermissible acts, such as men meeting a woman alone, meeting and making plans against/for their husbands with other men and women, engaging with witch doctors, dancing, music, creating fitna and much more.

Zinnah of the eyes is not only for men to women, but women to men too. The talk of the town is that many married women oogle the men/actors, their muscles, 6 pack and some will even tell their husbands to shape up… And vice versa.. So it’s creating an unreliastic expectation between couples, which can create a rift.

This is because the eyes are the most direct path to the heart. One who allows his whims to overwhelm him and indulges his eyes in the viewing of haram things has weakened his heart, corrupted his soul, and invited shaytan to control him.

It is also said that tourism to Turkey has increased with visitors expecting to see similar hunks and princesses, and some travel alone.
Even the excuse of travelling to see Islamic sites is not an excuse to travel alone without a mahram.
Whatever happens up there if shaytaan gets hold of them?!

Overspending at weddings is already a problem, but extra expenditure on Ertugrul themed weddings, with the dancing, music and horses goes against the Sunnah of a simple wedding ceremony.

Many watch serial episodes one after another where Salaah times will come and pass, but the viewing won’t stop. Some episodes are at odd hours of the night, which then affects the persons ability to wake up for Fajr Salaah.

Perhaps for the normal person, the show displays much Islamic acts, but in the eyes of a learned scholar, many contradictions can be found which has an adverse effect to a persons imaan.

I don’t want to be the ‘party pooper’, but the trained eye will tell you that shaytaan will take the form of something seemingly good in order to gain your trust and mislead you.
As much as we believe that Ertugrul is a ‘muslim’ show, what is your intention?

If your intention is to learn Muslim history, there are other more effective ways, such as reading, or even documentaries…
But fooling yourself by saying that you’re learning Muslim history by watching folklore series for hours on end is false pretense and not the correct statement….
*I’m enjoying the entertainment* is more correct.

Once you self admit your true intentions, what your opinion is on watching television and missing your Qur’an tilaawat, Salaah, family talk time and sleep, that’s your decision and between you and Allah.

Whatever you do, don’t make something wrong a right, because that’s walking a fine line in making what’s haraam into halaal.

An-Nu’man bin Bashir (RAA) narrated, I heard Allah‘s Messenger (ﷺ) saying, (Nu’man pointed with his two fingers to his ears) ‘Both lawful (Halal) and unlawful things (Haram) are evident but in between them there are doubtful things·and most people have no knowledge about them. So he, who saves himself from these doubtful things, saves his religion and his honor (i.e. keeps them blameless). And he who indulges in these doubtful things is like a shepherd who pastures (his animals) near the Hima (private pasture) of someone else and at any moment he is liable to get in it. (O people!) Beware! Every king has a Hima and the Hima of Allah on the earth is what He declared unlawful (Haram). Beware In the body there is a piece of flesh if it becomes sound and healthy, the whole body becomes sound and healthy but if it gets spoilt, the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart.” Agreed upon.

O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
